Dog guards - protecting your pet and yourself.

Dog in carDid you know it is illegal to drive with your pet unrestrained in your car? Rule 57 of the Highway Code reads “When in a vehicle make sure dogs or other animals are suitably restrained so they cannot distract you while you are driving or injure you, or themselves, if you stop quickly... A seat belt harness, pet carrier, dog cage or dog guard are ways of restraining animals in cars.”

Failure to comply could lead to a £100 on-the-spot fine if they are seen to be distracting you, whilst failing to pay the fine could lead to a court case and a maximum £5,000 fine. What’s more, insurance pay-outs can be withheld if there is an accident as most insurance policies will not cover a motorist who is found driving with a pet if it is unrestrained.

If you haven't already tailored your vehicle to secure your pet we offer a range of dog guards, we've featured a selection below but you can view our full range of dog guards here.
